Dr. Chan teaches courses in multinational business and
investments. Research focuses on empirical analysis of
the behavior of stock returns; the impact of
institutional equity trading; comparative analysis of
stock market structures; risk and portfolio optimization.
His work has been published in major academic journals
such as the Journal of Finance, Financial Analysts
Journal, and the Review of Financial Studies. He was
awarded the Graham and Dodd Scroll of Excellence from the
Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR)
in 2001 and the American Association of Individual
Investors Award in 1991. He also served as Associate
Editor, Journal of Financial Research from
1999-2002.

Dr. Givoly is the Chair of the Accounting Department and
teaches accounting courses at Penn State University. His
research focuses on financial reporting and disclosures,
effects of financial information on capital markets,
valuation and analysts forecasts of earnings. Prior to
joining Penn State, Professor Givoly taught at the
University of California at Irvine, Columbia University,
Northwestern University and Tel-Aviv University. He
served as the Chairman of the Financial Standards
Accounting Board in Israel (1996-99) and is a Certified
Public Accountant (Israel). Professor Givoly is a member
of the American Accounting Association, American Finance
Association, and The Institute of Public Accounting –
Israel.
His work has been published in major academic journals
such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics,
and he serves as a reviewer for The Accounting Review,
Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Business,
Journal of Accounting Research and the
Contemporary Accounting Journal.

Dr. Karceski's research focuses on equity investments, portfolio optimization, the behavior
of equity analysts, mutual funds, and bank mergers. He has taught courses to undergraduate,
masters, and doctoral students on equity markets, the institutional money management business,
and asset pricing theory.
Dr. Karceski's work has been published in all of the top-tier finance journals including the
Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and the Review of Financial Studies,
as well as practitioner-oriented journals such as Financial Analysts Journal. He has also won a
number of teaching awards at the University of Florida. His research has been recognized with the Barclays
Global Investors Best Paper Award at the 2000 European Finance Association Meetings as well as with
the Graham and Dodd Award of Excellence from the Association for Investment Management and Research
(AIMR) in 2000.
